There were no written rules that demanded our fellow Franciscans to never date a Wahyanite, but for every Hong Kong native, it was quite obvious that we were the longest standing vendettas with an unspoken taboo of even mentioning our "partner" school. But Sharon, once again, was not aware of that. She was informed by just the tabloids in Hong Kong. Obviously, she did not really have a real friend. All she talked about was how she wanted to go to a school like SPCC where there were allegedly countless wealthy bachelors. She did not know anything about our own school, like our history, and of course, the feud with Wahyan, which made her end up dating Jason Chen from Columbia when she went to NYU. I suspected that was because I was dating Edmond at the time, also from Wahyan. Sharon liked to compete with me in all areas and I was used to that. We had been in rivalry for over 30 years now. I lived with a sense of revenge so fighting back felt like breathing to me.
So she called me up one day and said that she wanted to meet my friends from SPCC. She explicitly said that she wanted to meet some tycoons. Yes, that was how direct and straightforward she was. She really had no strategies whatsoever. I heard she stalk Jonathan Tam from Brown University and scared the fuck out of him so he decided to marry Robynn Yip as a revenge. Sharon was a goal-getter. If she set her eyes on something, she would go for it without much processing in the brain. That was how she became almost first in academic standing, as a frequent salutatorian of our year, in St Francis. After Jane, it would be Sharon. I was only among the top 10th - 20th students in my year. To be honest, I was quite grateful about that. I was worried that my grades were not good enough to keep me from getting kicked out of the school in my early years.
It all started when I told her there were a lot of wealthy bachelors in the new school. I was partly doing it to fetch her a wishbone. I was also doing it because I felt that I was being scammed into this new school. Not saying that the new school was a magnet for dirt poor citizens, but there really were no ultra high net worth individuals when I went there. Daryl and Claire were the richest I knew, and they were just mid-level and Happy Valley residents. But St Francis had a much higher proportion of residents from Tai Hang and Jardine Lookout too. Even so, by the time I transferred there, they already left, or were about to leave. The rest were really common people with obvious and visible defects or disabilities. The urban legend ended up sucking in a lot of desperate young girls ready to strip to attract guys in school. Mindy was a proud resident from Baguio Villa but her mom was just a nurse and she ended up over leveraging with no spare money to even afford an entire lunch box from King Sing stall on Kennedy Road. Even Sharon, also a Baguio Villa resident, had three automobiles during her good times and she was just considered an okay wealthy one among my friends in St Francis. The average St Francis girl would live in a penthouse at Kornhill or Taikoo Shing, if not Heng Fa Chuen or South Horizons. And it was just average. Everyone was equally well off, without much domestic issues or financial burdens from the family. But the demogeographic distribution at SPCC was that there would be in each class 2-3 residents from MacDonnell Road or mid levels, then it would be the hillbillies from Fortress Hill or Pokfulam, while the rest would be distressed residents from the shabby towns waiting to be saved by means of grades, and "grace" too.
Even though I had a cushier time at SPCC, I still considered my decision to transfer a bad one. I was not saying I regretted it. No, not for a second. To be honest, I felt much more secure facing competitors now much lower-leveled and elementary school like. But I still felt that I was misled into this new school with fake news and false information like it was a promised land with "honey and milk".
So I wanted to scam her back into this shithole. She started it first, so I had no liabilities reverse-scamming her.
