Hong Kong, you will never be Harbin.

My favorite district in Beijing is Wudaokou.
It is a college town next to Tsinghua and Beida.
It is also a Korean town.
I like checking out the coffee shops in that district because it reminds me of college.
There are lots of things to do in Wudaokou.
It has shops, malls, and a famous district for tech companies, 中關村.
I really like the vibe of Wudaokou because it is very non-commercial.
A bit of college, a bit of tech, a bit of education, a bit of academia, a bit of Korean, a bit of young business and start ups.
I really miss Beijing.
If I could get a 戶口 in Beijing, that would be great.
I don't have a 戶口 in Beijing. I have to carry around my 港澳同胞證, and it is hard to get around to set up bank accounts and stuff if I don't have a Beijing account.
Which is kinda similar to not having wechat pay or alipay in China. China doesnt use whatspp or payme at all.
I really miss Beijing.
My other favorite district in Beijing is 前門.
It is very cultural.
It used to be an embassy district.
I remember in the 90s, China was closed door. There were no foreign restaurants.
The only place I could eat Hong Kong dimsum and KFC was 前門.
I really miss the Beijing in the 90s. When things were in scarcity, when there were no foreigners, not even people from another province.
Everything was so structured and organized.
I miss Beijing.
It can't be compared to Hong Kong.
In Beijing, I could visit 798 art district. I could go to Sanlitun for a drink and shopping. I could go to 工體 for a concert.
I saw Stephanie Sun's concert in 工體. Super Junior. Wilber Pan.
There were tons of things to do in Beijing.
To be honest, Hong Kong has nothing to do other than red light districts and making money.
There are absolutely no other things to do.
I feel like being stuck in a 50000 feet deep pitfall.
No kidding.
Hong Kong is too commercial. It is either office buildings or residential buildings.
Hong Kong life is monotonous.
Yet, people love being here for some odd reasons.
I want to live in Beijing.
I want to live in 建外 Soho.
How did you know that I like 建外 Soho?
It's amazing how you read my mind like a psychic....
I always tell my mom, if I am to marry someone, he would have to be from Beijing or anything way up north.
Why?
I could not change my birthplace. I could not choose the fact that I was born in Hong Kong. But I could choose whom I marry with. I could choose where my husband is from.
Definitely Beijing....or anything way up north.
I don't like people down in the south.
They are money driven, materialistic and superficial.
They are not cultured. They are short, skinny and ugly looking.
I want to marry a 東北男孩兒.
A lot of people think all Beijing girls look like Wong Faye. Actually, they look more like 李小冉、金刻羽.
You have taken a wrong sample of the population.
I am proud to say that I am from Beijing. Not Hong Kong. I am not from down south. I don't identify with my Hong Kong background at all.
