The admissions info session is almost over. But Hareta is not paying any attention. She is really self-centered. That’s how she is. She never appreciates what she has and only wishes to steal from others. Maybe the grass is always greener on the other side? She too often gets jealous over others’ seemingly wonderful lives and pursues others’ goals rather than her own.

Emmy gives Hareta a warm smile and says, “It is almost done. Do you now know more about the school? If you have any problems regarding the admissions process to this school, you can ask me. I have been there and done that. Oh, by the way, my hubby is almost home. I will ask him to give you a ride. You live in Cheung Kwan O, right? There is no direct transport to take you there. I need to go to Causeway Bay to go shopping anyways.”

Hareta feels uneasy again. Why is Emmy so fortunate to be born in a rich family AND happily married to a loving husband? They even own a luxury home and a sports car. Emmy lacks nothing. No, that can’t be. Emmy lacks difficulties, bad experiences, hardships, sufferings, struggles and agony. Emmy needs resilience, perserverance, endurance, persistence, tenacity, and determination. I have all she does not. Can you keep winning, Emmy?

Hareta on the other hand does seem like a capable woman who has fought her way to where she is now. She fights for what she owns. So, she is even more certain that she is invincible towards Emmy, Hareta’s imaginary frenemy.

So she follows Emmy to Chin’s house. After a short while, Ackley arrives.

As soon as Ackley gets home, Emmy greets him like they have been seperated for years. She uses her baby voice again, “My dear hubby, you are finally home. I miss you so much. I have made an awesome friend today. This is Hareta. She wants to send her kid to ESF and works at the Big Four as well. Doesn’t she look like your idol, Song Hye Kyo?”

Ackley grins without a word. He gives an affectionate look at Emmy and says hi to Hareta.

Emmy keeps pouring, “Hubby, I need to go shopping in Causeway Bay. Please take me to Times Square and drive Hareta home. She lives in Cheung Kwan O.”

Ackley seems a bit reluctant and says, “It is not really on the way.”

Emmy wraps Ackley’s body with her arms and acts rather seducive to her husband, “Baby, she doesn’t come here often. Just give her a ride. She is going to Island ACC with me next week. She is my church friend.”

Ackley slightly pads onto Emmy’s chin and says, “Okay. Your every word is my command.”

So, Hareta watches this sweet couple from behind and gets on the back seat in their Mercedes sports car. Emmy and her husband are ready to set out.
