The door slowly opens. Ackley is back.

The first thing he does is to squeeze a smiley face to Emmy. A warm, loving smile. He doesn’t see Hareta as yet. This time, Hareta comes to greet him with great hopes and in flirtatious manners, thinking that Emmy would be heartbroken to see them have a thing for each other.

But Ackley is quite surprised when he turns around and sees Hareta. He says, “You look really familiar. What is your name again? Sorry. I am forgetful.”

Hareta is about to burst in tears. She cannot believe that this man in front of her, who has popped her 6 times the first night they met, acts like a total stranger. Is Hareta not good enough for him? Does he feel ashamed to be with her? Do they really have no strings attached?

Hareta’s voice is a bit shaken, “Hi, I introduced myself before. My name is Hareta Shu.”

And then, Ackley turns his back and looks at Emmy. He pinches her cheek and says, “Wifey, why do you have so many friends? How am I able to handle all these? Look at the food you have prepared. You must be tired. Come over and take some rest.”

Emmy says, “Hubby, you are so absent-minded.”

Hareta is about to collapse, witnessing all these. She cannot believe what she is seeing. She is still losing in this race because Emmy is still living in her blissful ignorance. Hareta vows to herself, “One day, I will no longer see you smile again because I will take everything away from you!”

Emmy does not seem to have noticed Hareta’s face turning pale so she goes, “My dear, have a tour around our bedrooms. Hubby, why don’t you show her around?”

Ackley looks a bit embaraased, but he nods anyways.

What a mid-summer night’s dream.
