Tricks like catcher in the rye were not unprecedented. Actually, they were universal. Sharon wanted to make me blind by hitting me with a tennis racket. She didn't succeed, of course. I never agreed to play tennis with her, even though she continuously tried to tempt me into it. Sharon talked me into tennis lessons and I did it. After two yeas of coaching, I still could not serve. I told you I was not an athlete. I was not particularly sporty. There were many things I could not do well.
As we got older, Sharon quickly befriended with Jane, hoping to form an anti-me league among the loners and losers in our school. Therefore, after grade 3, I did not hang out with my closest friends anymore. I figured my phone lines were secretly tapped and my rivals could easily record my conversations with my friends. So in response, I befriended my enemies. I guessed you could call that maturity?
I heard that Jane got her job at Baker through Sharon's help. Sharon could do a lot to disrupt others' lives. She even introduced Edmond's current wife, Jessica, to Edmond, just to destroy my romantic relationships. Jessica and Sharon went to NYU together. It was no coincidence that Jessica wore a super mini-skirt to seduce him on the island of Puerto Rico during our spring break vacation. That very summer, she joined Edmond's investment bank and worked as his inferior. After a few years of dating, she wedded him, unsurprisingly. But I heard that Edmond already turned gay by then so their marriage was basically sexless. Again, no, I was not complaining. Life in Hong Kong had always been stressful and full of competition and obstacles. I actually found it a relief to have Edmond taken away from my side. Was it love between me and Edmond? I would doubt it. If you loved homosexuals, please you should steal him for yourself. By all means, please. You would always be welcomed.
Colluding with Jessica to allure Edmond could be one of the few things I needed to thank Sharon for. Gossiping with her was next. It was through her that I first learned about St Paul's Co-ed. I think it was a typical day in grade 5. We did not have the internet to kill time so usually we liked to join teleconference after school. Life in a Catholic conventry was almost like navigating through an infiltrating ambience of estrogens . Had you watched the Mean Girls? I figured that life in public schools in the US was no different. I was more like Regina George and Sharon could be that Lindsay Lohan.
